The Selden Patent


On November 5, 1895, a patent was granted to George B. Selden, for what he called the Road Engine.  The Road Engine patent, which became known as the Selden Patent, included an internal combustion engine, with enclosed crankshaft, and its use in a four-wheeled car.  Read the full story.
